Iron Range Service Unit

IRSU is an Intermediate Organization of Education Minnesota made up of several Education Minnesota locals in and around the Iron Range.

As an officially recognized Intermediate Organization (IO), IRSU’s purpose is to:

• Provide a system of networking, cooperation, and interchange on issues affecting IRSU locals and their members, creating strong effective locals.

• Provide support enabling members and locals to become actively involved in the organization at all levels.

• Foster a learning community for emerging and veteran local leaders.

• Disseminate information for and coordinate activity between member locals in regard to salary negotiations, professional benefits, member rights, and lobbying…your dues dollars are used to cover member expenses for any of these activities.

• Be a vital link in a multi-directional communications web among members, locals, Education Minnesota, NEA, AFT, and Area Labor Councils of the AFL-CIO.

• Promote Education Minnesota legislative goals and political efforts.
