As a member of IRSU, educators benefit from high quality professional development offerings close to home. “Relicensure In A Day”, “Negotiations Basics”, and “Organizing for Negotiations” course offerings brought educator from across North East Minnesota together on a cold winter day!
IRSU Rally For Educators
On January 17, 2024 the Iron Range Service Unit held a rally to show support for educators within our service unit. While many of our member locals have settled contracts, Deer River, Ely, I’Falls ESPs, Nett Lake, Northland Learning Center, and St. Louis County Schools do not. Joining us in solidarity were Education MN President Denise Specht, representatives from the Education Minnesota Governing Board, Education Minnesota Retired, MN AFLC-CIO President Bernie Burnham, MN AFL-CIO NE Area Labor Council President Alan Netland, MN AFL-CIO Iron Range Labor Assembly President Tom Cvar, representatives from AFSCME local 536, UFCW, TEMPO, and MAPE.
Rep. Dave Lislegard (7B), Rep. Roger Skraba (3A), and RAMS Executive Director Paul Peltier listened to the concerns of our unsettled locals.
